The Fort Hays State men’s and women’s wrestling teams held a joint Black and Gold Scrimmage Saturday evening (Oct. 19) inside Gross Memorial Coliseum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After 22 matches and three exhibitions, the black squad emerged victorious by a final score of 46-43. The gold squad picked up two more victories than the gold team, 12-10, but one pin and three technical falls gave the black team enough bonus points to claim victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The men completed 12 bouts, with the women competing in 10 bouts that contributed to the team score and three additional exhibition matchups. There were four decisions, three major decisions, three technical falls and one pin in the men’s matches and seven decisions, two technical falls and three pins in the women’s contests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both teams will officially start the 2024-25 season in early November, with the men heading to Wichita, Kan. for the Falcon Invitational on November 2 and the women heading to Grand Junction, Colo. for a pair of duals against Colorado Mesa and Minot State on November 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
