She finished as high as third individually at the KSHSAA Class 5A State Championships in 2022, capping off a 31-2 junior season, also placing fifth as a sophomore and seventh as a senior. She helped the Mustangs to runner-up finishes as a team in 2021 and again in 2023, while Salina Central finished third as a team in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Montoya is also a world-class twirler, winning a world championship in 2023 in England to go with multiple national twirling titles.
