Students For Life discussed upcoming events at their meeting last week. From on-campus activities to traveling across the country\u2014the student-led organization hopes to reach out to as many students as possible on campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Items on their agenda showcased T-shirt designs, discussing pro-life tabling and National Pro-Life Chalk Day. President of Students For Life, Haylee Hafenstein, encourages anyone with art skills to attend and bring awareness to the abortion matter.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe National Pro-Life Chalk Day will be focused on highlighting that abortion is a fundamental human rights issue,\u201d Hafenstein said.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chalk Day event will be tomorrow on the Fort Hays State University sidewalks throughout campus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vice President of Students for Life, Rylie Zeller, presented a video highlighting the March for Life in Washington D.C., including visuals of a previous march and interviews of attendees from across the country. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c\u200b\u200bThe March for Life in Washington DC is the biggest life march in the country and in the world. It’s an incredible opportunity to see other people your age fighting for their right to life,\u201d Zeller said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The March for Life will be on January 19 as limited sign-ups will begin in the coming weeks for FHSU Students. The trip’s logistics are still being finalized, but both Hafenstein and Zeller assure those interested in attending will receive financial assistance through fundraising. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIf you sign up and say you’re going, we will book all the flights, book hotels and deal with that kind of unique reservations,\u201d Zeller said. \u201cDon\u2019t let money be a barrier.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The flight to Washington D.C. is expected to leave on January 17 in time for the march on Friday and return over the weekend. Touring monuments in the D.C. area like The White House was also up for discussion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hoffenstein hopes to get a lot of involvement after the meeting, desiring to increase engagement and bring attention to the pro-life movement with activities like National Pro-Life Chalk Day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI think that my biggest goal right now for our group is to get people around campus to spread the pro-life message so that people know what we\u2019re here to do,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The following Student For Life meetings will have a theme that promotes different aspects of the pro-life argument from the likes of contraception to the legality of abortion. The group’s next meeting will be on November 2. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
