The walk was located at Municipal Park near Fort Hays State University. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Walking took place from 9-11 a.m. Participants were given a flower pinwheel with a color corresponding to their reason for walking. Hays had participants who walked to honor someone they had lost to Alzheimer&#8217;s (purple) and for those they are caring for who currently have Alzheimer&#8217;s (yellow). Everyone out there was supporting the fight for a world without Alzheimer&#8217;s (orange).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe were so happy to have students from FHSU volunteer this year and look forward to having them back next year,&#8221; Program Specialist Denise Vann said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sponsor NEX-TECH and the Clinkscale Law team with Santa and his Dinosaur showed up to support the cause. This year, there were 26 teams with 50 walkers. As of now, about $7,000 has been raised for the fight to end Alzheimer&#8217;s. However, donations are accepted until December 31.
