Donors responded in droves for last week\u2019s inaugural Giving Day at Fort Hays State University, raising more than $270,000 in a 48-hour period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just as FHSU banded together as a family\nthroughout a year unlike any other, we came together once again to\n#SupportTheFort. The success of FHSU\u2019s first Giving Day proves further that\nFort Hays State is a university of resilience, strength, and community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to the overwhelming response, and\nexcitement around the promotions being offered, FHSU\u2019s Giving Day was extended\nan additional 24 hours. Throughout the two-day effort, Giving Day raised more\nthan $100,000 in cash\/securities and $170,000 in pledges. More than 700 gifts\nwere made in support of Fort Hays State by 600-plus donors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe were completely blown away by the\ngenerosity seen on FHSU\u2019s inaugural Giving Day,\u201d said Jason Williby, president\nand CEO of the FHSU Foundation. \u201cTiger Nation sticks together, win or lose.\nThis week we won. Thank you to all who made a gift and shared on social media\nto help raise awareness around the event. Know that you have made a lasting\nimpact on the lives of FHSU students, faculty, and staff. The effects of this\nfundraising event will be felt for years to come.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fort Hays State\u2019s Giving Day was created\nto raise awareness around the university\u2019s various needs, to cultivate new\ndonors, and to create an engaging way to raise money for deserving Tigers.\nDonors could give to their favorite area of FHSU or choose from more than 40\nspecific areas of the university that need financial support. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe hope our first-ever Giving Day will\ninspire others to give back,\u201d Williby added.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
