The average swing between the top two candidates in the
recounts was 282 votes, with a median (middle) of 219 votes. These margins
right now are very substantial and thus a recount would not shift the outcome
of the election especially — in states such as Michigan, Pennsylvania, and
Nevada.

Is there widespread voter fraud?

No.

There
is no evidence of widespread voter fraud. How do we know this? We trust our
security and intelligence agencies and our judicial system.

The
U.S. Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency released a joint statement
from the Elections Infrastructure Government Coordinating Council & the
Election Infrastructure Sector Coordinating Executive Committees that said:
“There is no evidence that any voting system deleted or lost votes, changed
votes, or was in any way compromised.” They also stated: “The November 3rd
election was the most secure in
American history.”

President
Trump, of course, did not like this finding and fired the director.

The
Trump Campaign legal team, which has seen many lawyers jump ship in the past
few weeks, has continued to file lawsuits in court and spew conspiracy theories
in public. The judicial system has responded to these lawsuits.

There
have been approximately 12 lawsuits from the Trump Campaign that have been
denied or dismissed across the country that stems from the Trump Campaign
asserting fraud without evidence. There are many other lawsuits out there from the
GOP that have also been denied or dismissed. Only a handful still are pending
due to administrative procedures.

Is there a conspiracy against Trump?

No.

As
much as it hurts to lose such a race like this, people should trust our
judicial system and intelligence and security agencies. They have a duty to
protect us and our election, not serve a candidate’s purpose to get elected or
re-elected. Americans should trust the state election officers who, for years,
have conducted fair and safe elections. Some of the are states that in question
by the Trump Campaign are Republican-controlled. They have Republican secretaries
of states, Republican governors, and Republican-controlled state legislature.

Are
these Republicans conspiring against Trump? No.

Do
not let Trump and his ragtag gang of lawyers try to fool you. We are better
than that.

This
was a fair and secure election. The people spoke and thus we move forward with
the people’s choice.

Bradley DeMers is senior studying political science at FHSU.
