{"id":38350,"date":"2018-05-15T08:36:17","date_gmt":"2018-05-15T13:36:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tigermedianet.com\/?p=38350"},"modified":"2018-05-15T10:22:53","modified_gmt":"2018-05-15T15:22:53","slug":"western-kansas-pounded-by-hail","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/tigermedianet.com\/?p=38350","title":{"rendered":"Western Kansas pounded by hail"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Photo courtesy of NWS Dodge City<\/p>\n<p>Severe storms once again made their way through portions of Kansas on Monday night.<\/p>\n<p>While tornadic storms were reported in south-central Kansas, western Kansas had to deal with hail for the second night in a row.<\/p>\n<p>Reports of 2.75-inch hail were reported 4 miles north-northeast of Marienthal in Wichita County.<\/p>\n<p>Weskan, located near the Kansas-Colorado line, had a report of 3-inch hail, and the small town of Wallace had reports of 2-inch hail breaking windows in some houses, according to the National Weather Service&#8217;s Storm Prediction Center.<\/p>\n<p>Scott County also was pounded by hail that reached up to 2-inches, and baseball size hail was reported near the town of Amy in Lane County.<\/p>\n<p>Between Ness City and Jetmore, a 70-mph wind gust was reported.<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday\u2019s high is expected to be near 80, with a low near 58 this evening.<\/p>\n<p>There is a 20-percent chance of storms Wednesday, with a 30-percent chance of rain Thursday through Saturday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Photo courtesy of NWS Dodge City Severe storms once again made their way through portions of Kansas on Monday night.
