The team competed at the conference championships held in Kearney May 4-6.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/0d182660-fd8a-43af-a1a2-88135151b6af?elinkdata=107907\">Brett Meyer<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/8e02dabc-0e63-47df-b2bc-b27434244841?elinkdata=107907\">Decano Cronin<\/a> brought home the two championship performances. Meyer claimed first in the 1,500-meters at a time of 3:53.30, while Cronin out-ran his field in the 800-meters with a finishing time of 1:50.06. Meyer earned another All-MIAA honor in the 800-meters after finishing in third place at 1:51.25.<\/p>\n<p>The other three All-Conference performers for the Tigers came during the field events. <a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/342da270-bcee-42c1-a6f3-e95f2fb6e84d?elinkdata=107907\">Jake Morrow<\/a> finished in the runner-up position in the pole vault with his height of 16 feet, 11 inches. <a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/02cd919b-55ac-4827-97ca-a464fb3911bd?elinkdata=107907\">Lucas Broxterman<\/a> also finished in second place in his event of the high jump at 6 feet, 11 inches, followed by teammate <a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/0b35fe6c-95fa-4bbd-9a18-fbcf0c772a88?elinkdata=107907\">Kolt Newell<\/a> in third place at the same height.<\/p>\n<p>Other solid performances highlighted the championship weekend for the Tigers, including <a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/aab93a19-0816-4409-8812-88f9d9baeb98?elinkdata=107907\">Malcom Gardner<\/a> claiming two top-ten performances. Gardner took sixth in the 200-meters (21.29) and eighth in the 100-meters (10.59) which were both good enough times for provisional marks. <a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/efc57199-ff00-4ec4-b356-8335f8586cf4?elinkdata=107907\">Oscar Carmona<\/a> earned fourth in the 1,500-meters with a time of 3:56.77, while also claiming sixth in the 5,000-meters at 15:26.47.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/1d2cda77-ea06-4542-8c54-38765fde9fec?elinkdata=107907\">Kyle Comstock<\/a> capped a sixth place finish in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.74 and <a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/daff5050-d6ba-4433-bdd5-311a6ffcbb66?elinkdata=107907\">Weston Riner<\/a> ran for 54.83 in the 400-meter hurdles to place seventh. In relay competition, Comstock, <a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/2e7a45da-1b62-44b8-bfd8-e7fdf1f89ea9?elinkdata=107907\">Jacob Schumacher<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/c6e50787-b06b-4057-9cd5-fc1b745d4fb0?elinkdata=107907\">Johnathan Penrose<\/a> and Gardner led the way to a fifth place finish in the 4&#215;100 at 41.82, while a fourth place time of 3:15.77 in the 4&#215;400 relay comprised of Schumacher, Meyer, Gardner and Cronin sealed strong relay performances.<\/p>\n<p>Switching to field performances, <a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/782b93c5-7d01-49df-a18f-136fa7aab746?elinkdata=107907\">Sam Dreiling<\/a> earned another provisional in the pole vault coming in eighth place with a height of 15 feet, 9 inches. <a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/a71c298a-3674-487c-931c-7812908386f5?elinkdata=107907\">TJ Dozier<\/a> earned a fifth place finish in the discus with his throw of 167 feet, 2 inches for a provisional. In the javelin, <a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/f423e242-9baf-476c-ab3f-01c8750c66af?elinkdata=107907\">Derek Bixenman<\/a> placed ninth at 175 feet, 8 inches, while also earning fourth place in the decathlon with a provisional 6,497 points. Teammate <a href=\"http:\/\/fhsuathletics.com\/services\/go.ashx\/a5639d90-fe33-47fb-ab0b-9b547c7e289a?elinkdata=107907\">Matthew Pieper<\/a> was close behind in fifth place alongside his provisional points at 6,467.<\/p>\n<p>As a team, the Tigers amassed 90.5 points to finish in the fifth place.
