{"id":31701,"date":"2017-03-18T17:00:38","date_gmt":"2017-03-18T22:00:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tigermedianet.com\/?p=31701"},"modified":"2017-03-18T16:44:11","modified_gmt":"2017-03-18T21:44:11","slug":"fort-hays-historic-site-150th-event-military-posts-and-the-women-who-call-them-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/tigermedianet.com\/?p=31701","title":{"rendered":"Fort Hays Historic Site 150th Event: Military Posts and the Women Who Call Them Home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Fort Hays National Historic Site turned 150 this year and in commemoration of this special occasion there will be a series of events.<\/p>\n<p>The most recent event being, &#8220;Military Posts and the Women Who Call Them Home&#8221; which is on March 18th at 2 pm.<\/p>\n<p>The event will feature well-renowned historian Marla Matkins who is a dedicated historical reenactor who received her education degree from Fort Hays State University and continues to inspire people through education and theater.<\/p>\n<p>Marla\u00a0is well known for her thoughts on the\u00a0Indian Wars time period, and she will speak\u00a0about the lives of women during that time, especially those married to the military officers.<\/p>\n<p>Fort Hays Historic Site is located on\u00a01472 US Highway 183 Alt, Hays, Kansas 67601.
