Rogue One<\/span><\/i>, although said to be a stand alone story, fits in perfectly in between <\/span>Revenge of the Sith <\/span><\/i>and <\/span>A New Hope<\/span><\/i>. Like stated before, It brings together a group of unlikely heroes to steal the plans to the death star.<\/span><\/p>\n

Darth Vader Returns to the big screen in an action packed film on a young heroine\u2019s (Jyn Erso) quest to help the empire as well as find her father again. <\/span><\/p>\n

My original inquiries that Jyn might be from a desert planet couldn\u2019t have been further from wrong. Jyn at a young age lived with her mother and father farming until Imperial troops show up. Her father, Galen Erso used to work for the Empire and they needed\/wanted him back. It is then that she is separated from her parents and is raised by Saw Gerrera (portrayed by<\/span> Forest Whitaker) who was friends with her parents but later became known as a Rebel Alliance extremist.<\/span><\/p>\n

Somehow, Jyn and Saw get separated around when she is 16. We next find her causing trouble and in jail. The Rebels break her out, but because of her relations to Saw Gerrera and her father. They ask for her help to find them hold back some important information from her.<\/span><\/p>\n

On her journey be befriends Cassian Andor and K-2SO. K-2SO was easily to funniest character throughout this film. The film lacked the humor and the fun of the original three films and Episode VII in my opinion. In the scale of movies go, I\u2019d give it a 6\/10. Every movie has down parts, but I felt like there was no personality amongst the cast. Given the time of the movie, I\u2019m thinking maybe everyone was so serious intentionally to show the hardships and the negativity that followed after the Empire took over. <\/span><\/p>\n

Things I was excited to see though included the final scenes when princesses Leia made her return to the screen. She\u2019s portrayed by Ingvild Deila, but through CGI and makeup, looked almost virtually the same as a young Carrie Fisher. I also was excited to see Donnie Yen and his incredible martial arts skills. His character, <\/span>Chirrut \u00cemwe, continuously recited the prayer, \u201cI am one with the Force, and the Force is with me\u201d proving true in a couple of instances throughout the film. His character was one that also brought some humor to the screen.<\/span><\/p>\n

Overall, I believe it was a good film, but I\u2019d like to see it again to see if I could catch anything I missed originally. Knowing me, I\u2019ll be back at least once before it leaves theaters. (I saw the Force Awakens a total of four times before they even released it on DVD.)<\/span><\/p>\n
