The Fort Hays State Department of Music and Theater put on a show at the first Thursday of each month In the Memorial Union Sunset Lounge. This month they showcased a snippet from Showboat, a musical about a boat that puts on shows. They performed songs such as Oh listen sister, Life Upon the Wicked Stage, and Goodbye my Lady Love.<\/p>\n
The preview was to promote the show and generate a buzz for people who may not know about it.\u00a0Showboat begins at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, October sixth, \u00a0seventh, and\u00a0eighth.
\nA matinee performance will be at 2:30 on Sunday, October ninth\u00a0\u00a0in the Felten Stark Theatre in Malloy Hall.<\/p>\n
\u201cShow Boat\u201d follows three generations of people on a boat sailing on the Mississippi River and is based on the award-winning novel by Edna Ferber.<\/p>\n
Tomme Williams is directing the show and Dr. Terry Crull, the Associate Professor of Music and Theatre, is the director of music.<\/p>\n
