The Kansas State Fair is a ten-day event that will be held Sept. 5 to 14 and offers free entertainment, competitions, educational opportunities, and much more.<\/p>\n
Abby Baker, Parker, Colo., sophomore, attended last year for the first time and will again this year.<\/p>\n
\u201cI really enjoyed walking around the fairgrounds last year seeing what the KSF had to offer,” Baker said. “It was interesting to compare how the KSF did things compared to my home state. I am looking forward to watching the livestock shows again this year and going to the Sawyer Brown concert.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Kansas State Fair is a state tradition that has been going on for over 100 years, and \u00a0theme for this year is \u201cget on a stick.” Every food imaginable is being put on a stick like\u00a0mac n\u2019 cheese with bacon.<\/p>\n
After catching a bite to eat, the Kansas Beer and Wine garden is available to sample a beverage made right in Kansas.\u00a0Not only will food and beverages be available, but a variety of entertainment will be present as well.\u00a0The park will be jam-packed with amusement, f<\/span>or children’s entertainment.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Dr. Goddard\u2019s Lab is a unique way for children to watch a live science show that offers an enjoyable learning experience.<\/span><\/p>\n Agriland will designate an area full of interactive games, wooden cutouts, and hands-on activities focused on informing kids about the importance and impact agriculture has on Kansas.<\/p>\n The birthing center will allow kids, and older fair goers, to interact with baby animals and watch live births.<\/p>\n Disney\u2019s Frozen will play on Sept. 13 at 8 p.m. at the Nex-Tech Wireless Stage.<\/p>\n Steve Trash, a Rockin\u2019 Eco Hero and Kid Comedian, and his friend Oscar the Robot will also roam the fairgrounds looking to entertain kids.<\/p>\n Make sure to check out a livestock show and 4-H and FFA exhibits.<\/p>\n If fair goers are looking for musical entertainment, Hunter Hayes, Matthew West with Cloverton, Chris Young with Courtney Cole, Cheap Trick, Sawyer Brown with Aaron Tippin, Country Gold, and 3 Doors Down will be performing at the U.S Cellular Grandstand throughout the ten-day period. Tickets are available online or at the concert.<\/p>\n The KSF offers many different rides for every age as well.\u00a0Ride-O-Rama has wristbands for $25 each.
