Creator of Courage the Cowardly Dog working on new projects

We were recently able to interview John R Dilworth, creator of Courage the Cowardly Dog about some projects Stretch Films is developing. We discussed the recent release of  Goose in High Heels on Vimeo, the development of his current project Howl If You Love Me, and the potential collaboration with Cartoon Network to create a prequel for Courage the Cowardly Dog. We were also able to discuss his work in process as a cartoon creator and furthermore we talked about the development of artwork as a whole. In particular, we were able to discuss interesting artistic qualities found him cartoon character creation. We were even able to get some details as to the development of Courage the Cowardly Dog.

Dilworth’s 2017 short film Goose in High Heels was made available on-demand on Vimeo.com. The short was originally released is a way to help fundraise for the exciting new project Howl If You Love Me. Goose In High Heels won the New Jersey International Film festival for best director and is one of many impressive works to be released by Stretch Films. 

Because of the exciting foment in the interview was when we had the opportunity to discuss the potential for a new Courage the Cowardly Dog show. “We are developing a prequel with cartoon network, but we don’t know where it’s going, how its developing”. In a previous interview with Tiger Media Network John R Dilworth mentioned the potential for a Courage the Cowardly Dog reboot or prequel and hearing that the potential is still there, it’s exciting to say the least. 

You’re also able to  you get more information on the development of the previous released Fog of Courage short. We were able to discuss the voice cast of the short, with Thea White and Marty Grabstein reprising their roles one void that was left to fill was that of Eustace. The passing of the original voices of Eustace Bagge, Lionel Wilson and Arthur Andersen, was a major loss. They were able to find a suitable actor to perform the role excellent play, “We cast Wallace Shawn as Eustace who I love” Dilworth excitedly mentioned.  It was a great opportunity to be able to have a long discussion with John R Dilworth on the Development of his many projects. We look forward to the future projects stretch films is able to create, including the potential Courage Reboot.
